Specification and Application of American Standard H-shaped Steel

H shape steel can be equilateral H-shaped, unequal H-shaped or H-shaped with hypotenuse to meet different design and use requirements.

Available in a variety of sizes and models, including different heights, widths, and thicknesses. Common American standard H-beam specifications include W4x13, W6x9, W8x18, etc. The number in it indicates the cross-section height, and the following number indicates the weight per unit length.

Classified according to material, common ones include A36, A572, etc. According to mechanical properties, American standard H-shaped steel can be divided into three types: ordinary strength steel, high-strength steel, and ultra-high-strength steel. The yield strength of ordinary strength steel is above 270MPa and the tensile strength is between 370-500MPa. It is widely used in construction, bridges, ships, and other fields.

High-strength steel has a yield strength between 340-420MPa and a tensile strength between 450-630MPa. It has good toughness and plasticity and is mainly used in the manufacturing of large machinery and equipment, high-pressure vessels, and other fields.

Ultra-high strength steel has a yield strength between 410-690MPa and a tensile strength between 610-820MPa. It has high strength and hardness and is mainly used to manufacture high-end equipment such as aerospace vehicles and high-speed trains.
